I did it. Don’t tell anyone, but the other day my daughter was using my iPad and daring to have a turn without me. Something had to be done.
That something was acquiring an iPad 4.

Did you know the new lightning usb cable it comes with is a little different to a regular usb? It felt and looked slightly different, but dammit, usb is usb and I was going to shove it into my shared usb/firewire port, no matter how much resistance it gave me.
It lives there now. I did my transfer and went to pull it out but computer said no. It’s hanging halfway out and halfway in and completely useless. Hurray!
Don’t think I didn’t try super hard to get it out either. I have bruised finger tips. Even tried levering it out with a pen (because I am after all a fully qualified pc repair technician). At some point today I will go find a screwdriver and get it out one way or another. I also can’t get the stupid sim in because I popped it out of its card crookedly and I wasted a screen cover – both in my eagerness to get busy.
Whatever. I have a new lover and we’re going to live happily ever after. Don’t we make a cute couple?
